AP and lateral geographic views of the proximal tibia in a 22-year-old female reveal a large, centrally located, soap-bubbly lesion in the diaphyseal-metaphyseal portion of the tibia with slight cortical dilatation and thinning, typical of a benign fibrous lesion. There is no evidence of metaplastic bone formation in the fibrous tissue that would give a smoky appearance on radiographic examination. This radiograph is considered quite diagnostic of a benign process and does not necessarily require a biopsy.
