Coronal MRI study taken initially when only the left hip was involved shows a low signal abnormality throughout the entire left hip area with extensive involvement of both the femoral head and neck as well as the entire lower hemipelvis on the same side. This would strongly suggest the diagnosis of either neuropathic hip, tuberculosis or a malignant neoplasm of some type.
