Close-up view macrosection shows in better detail the periosteal lifting by the Ewing's sarcoma and the perpendicular pattern of reactive bone spicules running between the periosteum and the cortex forming around the normal periosteal blood supply that is still intact but stretched out between the periosteum and the subadjacent cortex. There is no evidence of any tumor outside the periosteal sleeve.
