IMAGE DESCRIPTION:
Coronal T1-weighted MRI image again shows the high signal features of a benign lipoma within the deltoid muscle. This is similar to the signal of the adjacent subcutaneous fat. Again, a few areas of low signal patches within the lipoma suggest a possible variant, but it is very unlikely that they would represent a liposarcoma. In this case, the tumor was surgically resected with tight margins. Histologically, the lesion turned out to be a benign intramuscular lipoma without a malignant component.
