Low power photomicrograph shows evidence of vascular spaces lined by a single layer of endothelial cells with a complete void of red blood cells in the spaces that would thus suggest the diagnosis of a lymphangioma. In this case, the patient had mulitple surgical procedures to try to remove this vascular anomaly but without success because of the high local recurrence rate of this tumor, associated with lymphatic fluid weeping through a cutaneous portion of the lesion.
