CT scan through the pelvic area shows a very large soft tissue mass arising in the retroperitoneal portion of the right hemipelvis, extruding out into the subgluteal area through the sciatic notch. This picture suggests the diagnosis of either benign or malignant schwannoma. In this case, the biopsy confirmed a malignant schwannoma.
