Another photograph of the radial side of the hand taken six months after surgery that looks quite normal, providing the patient with excellent function. Five years following her surgery, she had no local recurrence and no pulmonary metastases. She required no adjuvant chemotherapy or radiation therapy. The prognosis for patients like this is quite guarded with approximately 50% dying from pulmonary metastases.
