Sagittal T2-weighted MRI shows a large high signal tumor mass filling the entire proximal aspect of the leg, eroding into the adjacent tibia and completely engulfing all the neurovascular structures passing through the leg into the ankle area. This pattern would suggest the diagnosis of a myxoid liposarcoma but histologically this lesion turned out to be an extra-skeletal myxoid chondrosarcoma with extensive ersosion into the adjacent tibia. Sometimes these lesions are seen as a primary tumor of bone with extension from the bone into the soft tissue which would have a similar appearance.
