A 59-year-old male who had no interest in sports and no history of injury to the area presented with a firm painful mass in his thigh of six weeks duration. This AP radiograph reveals evidence of early calcification within the quadriceps muscle that could represent myositis ossificans or perhaps a bone-forming sarcoma such as osteosarcoma or even synovial sarcoma.
