IMAGE DESCRIPTION:
Because a neoplasm was suspected, an MRI was performed and this axial T2-weighted image shows definite evidence of a high signal soft tissue abnormality arising from the vastus medialis muscle with a small central signal void that probably represents calcification and strongly suggests the diagnosis of a soft tissue sarcoma.
