IMAGE DESCRIPTION:
This scanning lens photomicrograph shows a traumatic myositic nodule taken from the quadriceps muscle that demonstrates cancellous bone formation at the periphery of the lesion with scar formation and giant cells centrally resulting from traumatized rhabdomyoblasts.
