IMAGE DESCRIPTION:
This radiograph taken six months later shows a mature bony pattern in the quadriceps muscle that has now become firmly attached to the subadjacent femur. It has the typical appearance of a mature myositis ossificans. The patient at this point was totally asymptomatic with full range of motion. No further treatment was necessary.
