A 36-year-old male presented with clinical symptoms of pain and swelling in his knee, especially in the suprapatellar pouch area. He gave a history of ligamentous injury to his knee as a teenager for which he had a reconstruction of his anterior cruciate ligament with staples for the reconstruction. He had multiple aspirations of blood from this knee joint. He had no evidence of synovial inflammatory disease of other major joints in his body. This photograph was taken just before a subtotal synovectomy of the knee.
