Here is another AP radiograph of the femur demonstrating lytic destruction of the mid-diaphysis and reactive new bone formation and soft tissue swelling. The patient was taken to the operating room and curettage of the lesion revealed the histological diagnosis of eosinophilic granuloma. The girl was placed in a spica cast for a period of six weeks. The fracture went on to heal without event and the granulomatous process did not recur.
