IMAGE DESCRIPTION:
A 2-1/2-year-old boy had pain and swelling of the distal arm for six weeks. This AP radiograph shows a permeative lytic process within the distal metadiaphyseal portion of the humerus with reative periosteal new bone formation that suggests the differential diagnosis of osteomyelitis vs, Ewing's sarcoma. A diagnostic curettage revealed the diagnosis of eosinophilic granuloma.
