A 5-year-old boy presented with generalized aches and pain, exophthalmos and diabetes insipidus. This lateral radiograph of the skull demonstrates the classic geographic lytic findings of a low-grade inflammatory process, such as Hand-Schüller-Christian disease. Note that there are sclerotic edges to the geographic lesions suggesting a benign disease. The appearance is similar to the lesions of eosinophilic granuloma.
