A 74-year-old female presented with a slightly painful shoulder for the past year. This AP radiograph of the shoulder shows a motheaten lytic process involving the entire upper third of the humerus with chondroid-type matrix calcification in the central portion of the humeral head and evidence of chronic endosteal erosion of the lateral cortex that clearly separates this malignant chondrosarcoma from a similar-appearing enchondroma that does not demonstrate cortical erosion.
