Radiograph taken one year later shows a second pathological fracture through the same area. Now the lesion has a more cystic appearance in the area of the fracture where the bone is markedly thinned out. Fibrous dysplastic tissue can be seen in the upper pole of the lesion where there is calcification in the metaplastic bone remaining in that area.
