Another CT scan showing the lytic process and thinning of the cortex, arising from the posterolateral elements of the lumbar spine and extending into the vertebral body anteriorly. There is metaplastic bone formation seen in the solitary lumbar vertebra but no other sites found in the skeletal system. This patient did not have sufficient symptoms to warrant a bone grafting procedure.
