IMAGE DESCRIPTION:
Technetium bone scan shows marked pickup throughout the entire lumbodorsal spine because of the multiple ComPreSsion fractures, similar to what might be seen with hyperparathyroidism or multiple myeloma. There is no known etiology for this rare syndrome that was described in 1950 and there have only been about twelve cases reported in the world literature to date.
