IMAGE DESCRIPTION:
An 11-year-old girl presented with symptoms of pain in her ankle for the past three months. AP radiograph of the distal fibula shows a fairly large geographic lytic lesion involving the entire distal metaphysis of the fibula. There is dilatation and thinning of the surrounding cortex typical of a benign unicameral bone cyst. This lesion was treated by a simple injection with cortisone.
