IMAGE DESCRIPTION:
AP radiograph of the proximal humerus in an 84-year-old male with a history of prostate cancer shows a lytic metastasis to the left proximal humerus with a pathological fracture. There is some evidence of blastic response in the central area characteristic of prostate metastases. Because of significant pain associated with the fracture, the patient was treated by means of a cemented long stem Neer prosthesis and returned to normal function in his left upper extremity.
