IMAGE DESCRIPTION:
CT scan through the S1 level of the pelvis in a 35-year-old male who was found to have a dense white blastic lesion in the ilium on the right side. His physicians were concerned that this might represent metastatic prostate carcinoma, however, biopsy proved the lesion to be a simple bone island. Note that there is no lytic component to the disease surrounding the dense white dysplastic lesion.
