IMAGE DESCRIPTION:
A 47-year-old female with a prior history of breast cancer developed symptoms of pain in her right hip after running a marathon. Lateral radiograph of the hip shows a blastic reactive lesion in the base of the medial side of the neck of the femur that was thought by the surgeon to be a metastatic breast carcinoma. It turned out to be a stress fracture from excessive running.
