IMAGE DESCRIPTION:
Coronal T1-weighted MRI cutting directly through the longitudinal axis of the deep posterior compartment of the leg, showing extensive vascular involvement of the entire compartment from the knee down to the ankle. It was impossible to resect this lesion without leaving the patient with significant disability and, thus, no surgical treatment was recommended. She wears an elastic stocking and avoids activities that might cause hemorrhage into the area of the tumor.
