IMAGE DESCRIPTION:
Pathological specimen from the debridement showing the large plexiform neurofibromata looking like a bunch of dead fish or worms. These elongated, long, fibrotic structures represent the abnormally enlarged nerves in the calf area, including the tibial and peroneal nerves. A similar debulking of the posterior thigh that included removal of the entire sciatic nerve was also carried out.
