Low power photomicrograph taken from the surgical specimen that resulted from a subtotal synovectomy. It shows a synovial villus with a focal area of primitive cartilage located within the synovial lining that gives the diagnosis of a primary synovial disease, producing the cartilaginous pellets in the hip joint.
