Sagittal T1-weighted MRI shows the low signal features of synovial hypertrophy involving the entire knee joint but especially noted behind the femoral condyles and behind the proximal tibia where there is lytic erosion into the bony structure of the tibial plateau. There is hypertrophy of the synovial tissue in the suprapatellar pouch.
