IMAGE DESCRIPTION:
This coronal gadolinium contrast MRI shows the high signal contrast of the hypemic synovial tissue surrounding the femoral condyles posteriorly with erosion into the juxta-articular portions of the proximal tibial plateaus both medially and laterally. This patient was treated by means of an anterior subtotal synovectomy following which her pain and swelling cleared up considerably. She did not require further treatment.
